The Editor - AI-generated fantasy Monster

The Editor

Scholars disagree whether the Editor was once a mortal archivist, a minor god of language, or a mistake made by a self-writing spell. What is certain is that it believes every event has a correct draft. It does not merely kill foes. It revises them out of the story.

Magic Resistance. The Editor has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Legendary Resistance. If the Editor fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. It can use this trait three times per day.
Spellcasting. The Editor can cast spells and use Revision Mark as a form of reality rewriting. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence, and spell save DC is 15, with to hit with spell attacks.
Page Step. The Editor ignores difficult terrain created by paper, books, scrolls, or loose written material.
Errata Strike. Once per turn, when the Editor deals psychic or force damage, it can add 7 damage to one target damaged by that effect.
Multiattack. The Editor makes two Margin Blade attacks, or one Margin Blade attack and one Scripted Command.
Margin Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 () slashing damage plus 7 () psychic damage. If the target is concentrating, it makes the concentration check with disadvantage until the start of the Editor's next turn.
Deleted Sentence. Ranged Spell Attack: to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 18 () force damage, and the target must succeed on a Intelligence saving throw or lose one reaction until the end of its next turn.
Revision Mark. The Editor targets one creature it can see within 60 feet. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the target is rewritten like text and suffers one of the following effects of the Editor's choice until the end of its next turn: it cannot take reactions, its speed is halved, or it is blinded as ink crawls over its eyes. On a success, the target is unaffected.
Margin Note. When a creature the Editor can see within 60 feet makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, the Editor imposes a whispered correction. The creature rolls a d4 and subtracts the result from the roll, potentially turning success into failure.
Marginal Shift. The Editor moves up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks, leaving a smear of ink in its wake.
Inline Correction (Costs 2 Actions). The Editor makes one Margin Blade attack or uses Revision Mark.
Paradox Clause (Costs 3 Actions). The Editor tears open a paragraph of reality in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 13 () force damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. A creature that fails is also pushed 10 feet away.
