Appearance

Morrath is a tall, androgynous figure whose body looks carved from pale parchment and sealed in lacquered shadow. Their skin has the faint texture of pressed paper, with thin black veins like brushstrokes under the surface. A halo of floating slate tablets drifts behind their head, each etched with microscopic names and debts. They move with exacting stillness, every gesture measured as if balancing invisible scales, yet their fingers are ink-stained to the knuckles as though they have been writing for centuries. The contradiction is striking: their face is severe and ancient, but their smile is unexpectedly gentle, almost apologetic, like a librarian asking for a borrowed book back.

Height6 ft 4 in
BuildLean and angular, with a ceremonial grace that suggests both scholar and executioner
EyesDeep gold with ink-black rings around the pupils
HairBlack with silver-white tips like ash on a quill
SkinPale parchment with faint marbling like old vellum

Measured, precise, and formal, with each sentence sounding reviewed before it is spoken. Morrath rarely raises their voice.”

Distinguishing Features

A vertical line of script runs from the center of the forehead to the throat like a divine seam.

Their left hand has six fingers, each ink-dark at the tip.

The shadow under their feet sometimes resembles a closed gate instead of a normal silhouette.

Their breath smells faintly of rain on old books.

When they are moved emotionally, tiny black flakes drift from their sleeves like dried script.

Voice

Low, clean, and papery, as if spoken through turned pages and distant bells

Clothing

A layered robe of midnight vellum and dark blue silk, hemmed with silver thread that resembles marginal notes. Over it they wear a short mantle of stiff black feathers attached to thin brass rings. Their gloves are fingerless and blotched with dried ink. At the throat rests a seal-shaped brooch that is also a holy sign and a lock.

Body Language

Completely still when listening, then suddenly economical in motion, like a blade leaving a sheath. They tilt their head only a few degrees when curious. Their hands are always either folded at the wrist or tracing invisible lines in the air, as if aligning clauses.
