Tegra Saltwake
Commoner
Tegra Saltwake
Species
Dragonborn
Appearance
Tegra is a bronze dragonborn woman with salt-polished scales that shine like old coins when the sun catches them, though the lower edges of her jaw and forearms are permanently clouded by a dark soot-gray stain from smoke curing fish. She moves with the rolling balance of a boat at sea, shoulders loose, knees slightly bent, as if she is always compensating for invisible waves. Her snout bears a narrow scar that cuts through one nostril, and the end of her tail is wrapped in braided reeds to keep it from cracking on deck. Unexpectedly, she wears a tiny silver bell tied to one wrist, a cheerful little thing that clashes with the worn, work-scarred hardness of her hands and face.
“Low and steady, with the rhythm of waves against pilings, often ending in practical questions like who, where, and how much rope..”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow scar across her nostril from a fishing gaff
Clouded soot-gray staining along her jaw and forearms from fish-smoking fires
A tiny silver bell tied to her wrist that she touches when stressed
Reed-wrapped tail tip to protect cracked scales
A net of old pearl buttons sewn inside her vest as keepsakes from the drowned
Voice
“Gravelly but calm, with a faint resonance like a distant conch horn and an undercurrent of tired kindness.”
Clothing
A patched sea-green fisher's tunic under a sleeveless oilskin vest, salt-stiffened trousers wrapped at the calves, and heavy deck boots with iron nails in the soles. She wears a netted sash full of hooks, line cutters, and spare sinkers, plus a faded scarf knotted with family tokens.
Body Language
She stands with one hand often resting on her hip or the gunwale of the nearest boat, tail slow and measured, head tilted as if listening for distant surf. When uneasy, she rubs her thumb over the silver bell and avoids direct eye contact.
