Appearance
Verity appears almost carved from winter chalk, with stark white skin that seems to hold its own pale light in darkness. Their silver white undercut falls in soft, metallic layers over one side of the head while the other is shaved close, revealing faint, musical scar-lines along the scalp like old staff notation. The face is eerily spare, with over-large blank white eyes ringed in dark shadow, a mouth that is expressive and precise, and only the suggestion of a nose, as if the rest of the features were intentionally left unfinished. They move with dancer's economy, each step graceful and deliberate, but when startled they twitch with birdlike speed. Their beauty is unsettling because it feels too still, except for the constant flicker of emotion around the mouth. The contradictory detail is a tiny brass charm tied into the undercut, shaped like a cheerful bell that rings only when no one is touching it.
“Low, clear, and musical, with a habit of landing on key words as if each were a downbeat. They can shift from velvet courtesy to blade-sharp menace without raising their volume.”
