Vaelis Duskwhisper
Fighter
Vaelis Duskwhisper
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Vaelis Duskwhisper looks like a chapel statue carved from moonlit ash and left out in the rain. Her long black hair hangs in damp, glossy ribbons around a pale face that seems almost too delicate for the hard set of her jaw. She wears mourning-dark armor polished only where it must be, so the rest holds a soft, funereal sheen. Her movements are exact and quiet, as if every step is measured against an invisible funeral hymn. The contradictory thing about her is the bright silver thread sewn inside her collar, a hidden lining she embroidered herself and never explains, like a private refusal to become fully tragic.
“Low, measured, and a little husky, like she has been speaking quietly to avoid waking sleeping children for years.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin white scar crossing the bridge of her nose
Pale lashes that make her stare look even more severe
A rosary-like chain of iron bells wrapped around her wrist
Ink stains on her fingertips from writing household tallies and death notices
A habit of smelling faintly of rain, cold metal, and candle smoke
Voice
“Dry, smoky, and quietly intense, with a tired edge that sharpens when she is protective”
Clothing
A blackened chain shirt under a long charcoal cloak, fingerless gloves, ankle boots with worn heels, and a silver brooch shaped like a funerary bell
Body Language
She stands with one hip angled away like someone preparing to leave a room that has already disappointed her. Her shoulders are usually tense, but around children they soften almost imperceptibly. In anger, she goes very still, which is often more alarming than shouting.
