Appearance
Mara Vell stands with the stillness of a locked gate and the alertness of a hunting cat. Her skin is sun-browned from years on the walls and roads, her shoulders lean and wiry beneath a patched guard's coat. She wears her armor polished only where it matters, as if she trusts function more than pride. A silver thread is sewn into one cuff for luck, and a cluster of old prison keys hangs at her belt despite the fact that she has no cell to open. Her left glove is always missing two fingers, yet her hands move with careful grace. The most memorable thing about her is her smile, which is warm and disarming until you notice she is never smiling with both eyes at once.
“Low, precise, and a little ironic, with the clipped cadence of someone used to giving orders she does not fully believe in.”
