Pella Nock
Species
Halfling
Appearance
Pella is a tiny, whip-fast halfling woman who moves as if the world is a floor built for her amusement. Her body is lean and springy, with rope-muscled calves, narrow shoulders, and hands callused by silk, rope, and knife hilts. She wears a patchwork circus leotard in moonwhite, plum, and midnight blue, but the costume is lined with practical harness webbing and hidden pockets. Her copper curls are usually tied into a high knot with one rebellious curl always stuck to her cheek, and her grin is bright enough to make her seem impossible to intimidate. The unexpected thing about her is a small, solemn pair of brass-rimmed spectacles she puts on only when she is about to do something wildly dangerous, as if disaster requires reading glasses.
“Quick, vivid, and musical, with the cadence of a ring announcement. She speaks as though every sentence might become part of a performance, and she laughs at her own danger before anyone else can.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale lightning-shaped scar along her left ribs
Tiny silver bells sewn into her sleeves that only ring when she wants them to
A single gold tooth filed to a point like a stage prop
A faint scent of orange peel, lamp oil, and hot dust
A habit of landing perfectly on one foot even after impossible falls
Voice
“Bright, breathy, and teasing, with a surprisingly steady edge when she is angry or afraid”
Clothing
A fitted circus leotard, fingerless gloves, a feathered short cloak, soft climbing boots with hidden springs, and a belt of tiny pouches, chalk, wire hooks, and folded silks
Body Language
She stands on the balls of her feet, constantly in motion, with quick head tilts and expressive hands that sketch arcs in the air even during conversation. When excited she leans too far forward, as if the next idea might physically pull her along. When angry, she goes frighteningly still.
