Halden Tallow
Fighter 5
Halden Tallow
Species
Human
Appearance
Halden Tallow looks built from patience rather than muscle, a lean human with weathered hands, a river-scraped face, and the still posture of a man who has spent years standing between a town and its troubles. His skin has the pale, wind-burnished tone of someone who lives indoors by necessity but outdoors by duty. He wears a dark green reeve's coat with river wax on the cuffs, a worn leather sash full of keys and tally tokens, and boots that always seem slightly damp from the Cressa banks. The unexpected thing about him is his smile: warm, almost boyish, and entirely at odds with the hard, suspicious alertness in the rest of him. When he moves, he does so in small efficient turns, as if every gesture has been rehearsed to waste no time and reveal no fear.
“Low, careful, and warm at the edges, with the cadence of someone accustomed to soothing frightened people while counting risks in his head..”

An old ring of brass keys that never leaves his belt, each tagged with ribbon scraps in different colors.
River-water stains on his cuffs that never seem to wash out completely.
A smile that arrives before his eyes do, making him look friendly until the eyes catch up.
One ear with a small notch, as if bitten or cut in a long-ago struggle.

“Hushed, patient, and river-gravel rough, with a habit of sounding kinder than he feels and firmer than he intends.”
Clothing
A dark reeve's coat over a plain linen shirt, a river-gray wool vest, leather gloves with repaired fingertips, sturdy boots, a key ring at his belt, and a narrow clasp pinned with the emblem of Breton's guest hearth.
Body Language
Still and economical, with long pauses, careful eye contact, and the habit of angling his body toward exits or the nearest source of light.
