Appearance

Kestrel Brimscale is a broad-shouldered brass dragonborn who looks as if he was forged rather than born. His scales are the color of old coins rubbed smooth by a hundred hands, with darker soot-bands along his jaw, forearms, and tail where years of tavern heat have stained him. He moves with a deliberate, prowling softness that makes his bulk seem lighter than it is, yet every step carries the weight of a door bar being dropped into place. His left horn is chipped and wrapped in thin copper wire, and a neat white scar cuts across one nostril like a split seam. The strangest thing about him is his apron: a spotless linen tavern apron worn over battered guard gear, as if cleanliness itself were a weapon he refuses to surrender.

Height6 ft 7 in
BuildHeavy, compact, and powerfully muscled, with a guard's endurance and a brawler's center of gravity
EyesMolten amber with a ring of gold that brightens when he is angry
HairNone, though a short crest of polished obsidian ridges runs from brow to skull like a natural helm
SkinBurnished brass with darker umber shading along the jawline and tail

Low, gravelly, and carefully measured, with a dry kindness that appears only after trust is earned. He uses tavern metaphors for almost everything, from battlefield tactics to grief.”

Distinguishing Features

A chipped left horn wrapped in copper wire

A white scar across one nostril

A spotless apron worn over battle gear

Soot-stained scales that never seem fully clean

A low, ember-like smell that clings to him after stress

Voice

A rough baritone like a coal shovel dragged across stone, softened by unexpected warmth when speaking to the vulnerable.

Clothing

A soot-dark linen shirt, reinforced leather bracers, travel-stained trousers, sturdy boots with iron nails in the soles, and a surprisingly immaculate white apron tied over a ring of keys and a utility belt

Body Language

He stands with his shoulders relaxed but his knees always ready, like a door brace waiting for impact. When listening, he lowers his head slightly and flicks one thumb against the haft of his axe. When threatened, his tail goes still first, then his nostrils flare as if he is tasting the room for smoke.
