Appearance
Nimba Reynolds is a broad-shouldered Aasimar woman with the hard, practiced physique of a recruit who drills before dawn and hauls mail after dusk. Her medium-length auburn hair is usually braided back in a rough soldier's plait, though wisps escape around her temples and stick to her brow when she sweats. Her brown eyes are warm and alert, but they flash with almost painful sincerity when something stirs her conscience. She wears 12th century cerulean blue and black scaled armor that has been carefully oiled, then patched in several places with mismatched steel scales from older kits. The surprising contradiction is that despite the severity of her armor, she keeps a faded ribbon of embroidered lace tied beneath one pauldron as a keepsake from home. Her skin has a faint honey-gold undertone that seems to brighten in lamplight, and when she moves she does so with a restless, buoyant energy, like a woman trying not to spill the thoughts crowding her mouth.
“Fast, hearty, and overexplained, with the rhythm of someone who keeps adding details because silence makes her nervous. When sober she sounds cheerful and determined; when drunk her voice softens, grows slower, and turns unexpectedly philosophical.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint golden sheen appears in the whites of her eyes when she is angry or wounded
A healed crescent scar crosses her left collarbone, hidden by the armor neckline
Her shield bears a hand-painted sunburst that has been repainted over bullet dents three times
She keeps one polished scale from a fallen comrade sewn into the inside seam of her cloak
Voice
“Clear, rapid, and warmly theatrical, with a soldier's crisp consonants and a habit of ending serious statements as if they were promises made over a campfire.”
Clothing
Cerulean blue and black scaled armor over a quilted undershirt, reinforced bracers, practical wool trousers, high riding boots, a short red sash under the belt, and a weather-beaten cloak pinned with a sun-shaped clasp
Body Language
She stands with a soldier's straight spine but rarely keeps her weight still, shifting from heel to toe as if she is always ready to march or interrupt. When nervous, she grips the edge of her shield and speaks faster. When emotional, she gestures with both hands, as though trying to physically arrange her thoughts in the air.
