Ssarnak, the Green-Eyed Lingering
Aberrant Stalker and Secret Broker
Ssarnak, the Green-Eyed Lingering
Species
Nothic
Appearance
Ssarnak is a hunched, rail-thin nothic wrapped in a cloak of stitched road leathers and scavenged funeral velvet, as if it once dressed to hide among mortals and never quite gave up the habit. Its skin is the color of old pond-scum and bruised jade, slick in some places and papery in others, with seams of scar tissue that look almost deliberate. The body moves in abrupt, insect-like bursts, then freezes unnervingly still, like a statue that has just decided to listen. One huge green eye dominates the face, glossy as a wet marble and too intelligent to be comfortable, while the other sockets are sunken and webbed with milky filaments. The most contradictory thing about Ssarnak is the tiny brass bell tied to one wrist, polished bright and worn like a treasured charm, even though the creature moves with the silence of a tomb.
“Soft, precise, and wetly resonant, like words spoken from inside a well; Ssarnak often pauses mid-sentence as if hearing another conversation just beyond the one at hand..”

Distinguishing Features
One oversized green eye that seems to focus on thoughts rather than faces.
A tiny polished brass bell tied to its wrist, never rung intentionally.
Thin scar lines across its throat shaped like careful stitches.
Long fingers stained with soot, grave dust, and sealing wax.
A faint smell of rain on stone and old copper that follows it even in dry places.
Voice
“A hushed, careful whisper with sudden sharp emphasis on names, debts, and hidden meanings.”
Clothing
A patched cloak of dark leather scraps, threadbare sashes full of hidden pockets, a brass wrist bell, and a sash of faded red cloth taken from a funeral banner.
Body Language
Ssarnak keeps its shoulders high and its head angled, like a predator pretending to be polite. When interested, it leans in too close without seeming to move its feet. When amused, the bell on its wrist twitches once, though no hand touches it.
