About

The shop is eerily silent except for the rhythmic, overlapping ticking of over one hundred clockwork chronometers displayed on the walls. Master Velis never blinks while speaking and often adjusts his spectacles in sync with the largest clock's chime.

Master Velis keeps his most precious assets in a heavy ironbound chest bolted to the floor behind a velvet curtain. His daily earnings and the shop ledger are stored in a hidden compartment inside a grandfather clock near the entrance.

Security check: DC 18Dexterity (Thieves' Tools)
If they fail: The chronometers all stop ticking simultaneously, triggering a 'Hold Person' spell trap (DC 15) and alerting the town guard via a silent alarm linked to the tavern next door.
The whole haul: About 1,850 gp
