(12)A practical iron knife used by fishers, cooks, miners, and sailors. The tang is stamped with the mark of the Red Seam Forge.
A short iron hook on a sturdy wooden grip, used by dockhands to move cargo and by climbers to catch seams in the iron-colored hills.
A compact handaxe made for sailors who need a reliable tool that can also serve in a fight. The head has a faint reddish sheen from local ore.
A common iron dagger with a wrapped handle and a rust-resistant oil coating. Imported blades are placed beside it for comparison, usually at a higher price.
The forge's signature item, a narrow knife of dark local iron with a copper wire wrapped around its pommel. Mara made it for a council courier after noticing that imported steel does not react to the island's fog.
A bundle of six broad iron fishhooks connected by cord and capped with a wooden float. One hook can serve as an improvised dagger in an emergency.
A compact travel kit containing a hammer, tongs, awl, whetstone, wire, and two small files. Popular with sailors and caravan workers.
Twenty dark iron nails made from the newest ore seam. The forge master insists they are ordinary, though the nails sing softly when carried near the town fogward.
A squat, practical anchor with a ring that bears the same three-line stamp found on several harbor nails. It is sold to boat owners and dock crews.
A dangerous unfinished iron cylinder assembled from a newly mined ore billet and fragments of ancient rune-worked metal. Runes circle its hollow center, but the final cap has not been fitted. Mara Vask keeps it chained beneath the back forge and refuses to sell it.
A sturdy kit assembled for miners and salvagers. The pry bar has a flattened end marked with the forge's red seam symbol.
A low-cost work vest worn by miners, harbor guards, and boat crews. It is uncomfortable in summer but useful against falling tools and glancing blows.

“The Red Seam Forge stands where Brask Hekur's last houses meet the iron-colored hills. Its roof is patched with ship planks, its chimney leans toward the fog, and every hanging tool is polished bright except for a cluster of blackened tongs reserved for rune-iron. When the spring fog rolls uphill, the forge's newest nails sometimes give off a soft musical hum. The owner, Mara Vask, is a broad-shouldered human woman in her late fifties with iron-gray braids, burn scars across both forearms, and a habit of testing metal by tapping it against her front teeth. She is proud of Brask Hekur's local ore, suspicious of imported steel, and openly irritated by anyone who calls the town's old ironwork primitive. Mara maintains a back forge where she repairs fragments of ancient rune-worked iron found in the hill caves. She believes the town's fogward was built from the same material, though she has never seen its inner workings. The miners bring her ore and rumors, while the council representative occasionally asks her to inspect civic hardware without recording the work. She trades furnace coal and scrap with the dockside salvage shop, and discreetly repairs locks, hinges, and cellar fittings for the town's second tavern. Her main secret is not that the strange harbor nails are magical, but that they were forged recently from new local ore. Their fresh scale marks and unfinished internal stress lines make that clear to any competent smith. Mara has kept samples because she suspects someone is deliberately imitating ancient fogward metal. Her signature Fogline Knife is the only finished object she has made from that ore. Beneath the back forge rests the dangerous Unfinished Fogward Key, an incomplete cylinder that hums when heated and may be capable of interacting with the town's protective fogward. Mara refuses to discuss it unless the party earns her trust by protecting miners, exposing fraudulent salvagers, or proving that imported metal has been tampered with.”
