The Black Lantern
The tavern began as a waystation for smugglers and night riders on a road that was too dangerous to travel by daylight. Over the years it grew into a rough refuge where smugglers, mercenaries, and frightened villagers all learned to keep their voices low and their coin close. The old cellar below the building is said to connect to something older than the town itself, and the owner never lets anyone down there without a lantern and a promise.
