The Last Lesson
The bell rings, the lessons begin, and the school never dismisses its students.
The Academy of Last Lessons is a sprawling, abandoned school carved into a hill of black stone. Its classrooms, dormitories, libraries, shrines, and detention cells remain strangely orderly, while the spirits of failed students still follow a timetable no living teacher remembers.
Dusty chalk, old paper, lamp oil, and damp stone fill the air. Bells ring without ropes, chalk marks shift when unwatched, and distant lessons echo through cold halls lit by blue witchlight.
☠ Threat
Headmaster Odran Vale now exists as a tireless magical echo within the academy. He believes the adventurers are unruly students who must be corrected, tested, and eventually enrolled forever. His commands animate desks, books, armor, and dead pupils, while every bell and written lesson subtly guides intruders toward his examination chamber.
History
The Academy of Last Lessons was founded by Master Odran Vale, a kindly wizard who wanted ordinary children to learn practical magic safely. When a warlord threatened the region, Vale sealed the school underground and used a forbidden mnemonic ritual to preserve every lesson forever. The ritual succeeded, but it trapped the faculty and students inside their own curriculum, leaving the academy to teach itself long after the war ended.
