Shield of the Kindled Bough

This light wooden shield is cut from a single piece of heartwood and reinforced with braided willow branches. A living vine curls around its rim, bearing tiny white flowers that open whenever the shield protects its bearer. The boss is a polished acorn cap set in bronze, and faint leaf-shaped patterns shift across the shield's surface as though stirred by an unseen breeze.
