Fox Ember Whistle

This thumb-sized whistle is carved in the shape of a curled fox, its body formed from rowan wood that feels warm even in winter. A coal-red ember glows beneath its translucent grain, while thin silver lines trace the fox’s ears, tail, and shut eyes. When blown, it produces no ordinary note. Instead, listeners hear a distant vixen’s call woven with the crackle of a small fire, and the air briefly smells of cedar smoke, rain-wet leaves, and fading twilight.
