The Last Ember of Vhal

The Last Ember of Vhal is a black coal no larger than a human heart. Its surface is glassy obsidian, but molten gold shines through the cracks in its surface. A miniature phoenix coils around it, constantly burning without consuming fuel. The Ember radiates intense heat, yet it never burns a creature that it considers courageous. When held, it beats like a living heart and sheds sparks that briefly form images of burning crowns, shattered chains, and cities rising from ruin. The Ember is a consumable relic. Once its power is unleashed, the coal vanishes and becomes a new sun for a single impossible moment.
