Mid-fight

End of the fight
If heavily damaged, Vora focuses all attacks on a single target to swallow it, using it as a biological shield and source of health.

Ecology
Vora is a nightmare of botanical biology. Her central body is a pulsating, bulbous sac the size of a cottage, buried halfway into the floor of the Heart-Chamber. From this central mass, five long, corded vine-necks extend, each ending in a massive Venus flytrap head lined with obsidian-like serrated teeth. The skin of the plant is a bruised purple and deep forest green, dripping with a thick, acidic nectar.
Behavior
Vora is patient and deceptive. She remains perfectly still until prey is deep within her chamber, then she releases a hypnotic pheromone to draw them into her primary maw. She speaks only through psychic whispers of hunger that echo in the minds of those nearby.
How it lives
Vora acts as the stomach of the forest. She consumes high-energy creatures (humanoids and beasts) and pumps the resulting nutrients through a network of subterranean roots to feed the rest of the grove.
Lair
The Heart-Chamber: A domed clearing where the floor is spongy with decomposed organic matter and the air is thick with digestive spores.
- Habitat
- Deep forest, specifically the Heart-Chamber of a sentient grove.

What drives it
To grow large enough to encompass the entire valley and eventually consume the gods of the green.
After the fight
Once Vora dies, the Heart-Chamber begins to collapse as her roots wither. The forest starts to lose its vibrant, aggressive growth, returning to a natural, peaceful state over the next year.
