Aelrin Thistledown
Ranger
Aelrin Thistledown
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Aelrin looks like a man carved from river-worn birch, all long lines and quiet motion. His skin has the pale gold of old parchment, with weather freckles across his nose and hands. Dark copper hair falls in a loose braid down one shoulder, threaded with tiny black feathers that click softly when he turns his head. His left eye is moss green, his right is storm gray, a contradiction that makes people look twice. He wears a practical ranger's coat patched at the elbows with boiled leather, but the cuffs are embroidered in delicate silver vines that suggest a scholar rather than a hunter. He moves with the restrained grace of a fencer, except when startled, when he hops backward like a nervous hare.
“Low, careful, and dryly lyrical, with the habit of turning directions into metaphors. He rarely raises his voice, but when he does it is because something is terribly wrong.”

Distinguishing Features
An uneven pair of eyes, one green and one gray.
A silver fern brooch with a hidden compartment for tiny maps.
Old scar tissue across the inside of his left wrist from a snapped snare line.
Feather-threaded braid that rattles softly when he moves.
A scent of rain on bark and lamp oil that clings to him after travel.
Voice
“Quiet, clipped, and attentive, with a habit of letting the last word fall into silence like a coin into water.”
Clothing
A moss-green ranger coat, slate trousers, mud-dark boots, a belt full of maps and waxed cord, and a narrow silver brooch shaped like a sprouting fern that he never removes.
Body Language
Still and precise when calm, but always with a slight tension in the shoulders like a bowstring drawn halfway. He points with two fingers, never one, and instinctively shifts to keep exits in view.
