Kherin Vael
Ranger
Kherin Vael
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Kherin Vael moves like a man always half a step behind his own shadow, quiet-footed despite the weight of a rain-dark cloak lined with fox fur and stitched inside with tiny maps. His left sleeve is permanently scorched at the cuff, and his gear looks maintained with almost devotional care, yet his gloves are patched with mismatched silk from a noble's gown. He has the weathered poise of a hunter and the surprised, almost scholarly expression of someone who would rather be studying a ruined shrine than stalking prey through mud. When he smiles, it is brief and crooked, as if he has forgotten the proper shape of it.
“Measured, low, and careful, with a habit of pausing before names as though weighing whether they deserve to be spoken aloud..”

Distinguishing Features
A thin silver scar across the throat that never seems to catch the light the same way twice
One ear is slightly torn from a wolf bite
His right hand bears blackened stains that no soap fully removes
He wears a tiny antler charm wrapped in red thread around his wrist
Voice
“Quiet baritone with a dry edge, like gravel under a stream.”
Clothing
A weatherproof green-gray traveling coat, boiled leather bracers, soft high boots wrapped for silence, a fox-fur collar, and a sash of braided reed cords holding charms, flints, and spare fletching.
Body Language
He stands with one hand resting near his quiver, shoulders angled to offer less of a target. In conversation he rarely faces someone straight on, preferring a slight turn that keeps the room in view. When thinking, he rolls a coin or arrowhead across his knuckles. In anger, he goes very still rather than explosive.
