Species

Appearance
Father Aurel Selthane looks as if he was carved from weathered chapel stone and then left too long in sea spray. He is tall and long-limbed, with a monkish stillness that breaks only when he is listening, at which point his whole body seems to lean forward as though hearing a distant bell. His robes are immaculate at first glance, but the hem is salt-stained, smoke-darkened, and patched with careful stitching in three different hands. The strange contradiction is his left hand, which is always gloved in black velvet despite the summer heat, while the rest of him wears only practical wool and linen. He carries himself with the composure of a saint and the impatience of a dock foreman, leaving the impression of a man who has argued with heaven and won enough to be dangerous.
“Low, careful, and resonant, with the cadence of someone used to speaking over rain, crowds, and chapel bells. He rarely wastes words, but each phrase sounds chosen with pastoral care and a dockworker’s blunt practicality.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin white scar circles his throat like a misplaced collar.
His left gloved hand is never shown in public.
His prayer beads are made from shipwreck glass and bone-white coral.
He has a small burn mark shaped like a crescent tide on the inside of his right wrist.
Voice
“Warm, grave, and sonorous, like a bell wrapped in wool.”
Clothing
Layered ivory cleric robes under a weatherproof slate-blue mantle, silver chain stole, seaworn leather boots, and a black velvet glove on the left hand
Body Language
He stands with hands folded behind his back when calm, but one thumb always rubs the black glove at his left wrist when troubled. In conversation he tilts his head slightly, as if measuring the weight of a soul. In battle he moves in short, efficient steps, never wasting motion.
