Appearance
Sister Marvera is a narrow-shouldered woman with the weathered stillness of someone who has spent years listening at locked doors. Her brown skin is mapped with fine silver scars along the jaw and left temple, each one left by a Tribunal interrogation needle. Her hands are broad, callused, and permanently stained with lampblack, while her movements are unexpectedly graceful, sliding rather than walking as if she were always crossing a chapel floor covered in spilled oil. Her face appears severe at first glance, but one corner of her mouth lifts whenever frightened children lie badly. The contradictory detail is her cloak: it looks threadbare and rain-rotted, yet its inner lining gleams with an impossible dawn-colored shimmer when no one is directly watching.
“Low, careful, and intimate, as though every sentence is being spoken beside a sleeping child. Her formal voice carries the rhythm of liturgy, but her private speech is dry, abrupt, and unexpectedly funny.”

Distinguishing Features
A silver scar runs from her left temple to the hinge of her jaw.
Her left thumb is missing its upper joint, severed by a Tribunal manacle.
Her shadow sometimes shows a second, taller figure standing behind her.
She carries a bronze funeral coin bearing a symbol officially erased from Jorthiel records.
Voice
“A contralto softened by years of whispering, with a dry rasp at the edges. When she speaks a true name, her voice briefly sounds much younger.”
Clothing
A patched charcoal habit beneath a rain-dark traveling coat, soft leather boots, a belt of keys and wax seals, and a ragged ash-gray cloak fastened with a bronze funeral coin. The cloak's lining conceals the shard of Nova's Heart.
Body Language
Marvera keeps one hand near the clasp of her cloak and angles her body toward the nearest exit. When relaxed, she folds her hands over her stomach like a nun at prayer. When lying, she becomes more formal and begins smoothing invisible wrinkles from her sleeves.
