Appearance
Brannic Vale is a lean, weather-cut human woman who seems assembled from river fog, tar, and old authority. Her posture is slightly stooped until she needs it not to be, at which point she straightens like a drawn blade. She moves with a measured dockmaster's limp that vanishes whenever there is trouble, and she taps her cane three times before stepping onto any surface as if asking the wood permission. Her coat is patched from dark oilcloth and college wool, the hem salted pale from spray, while her gloves are immaculate and faintly perfumed with citrus, an unexpected softness amid her brine-stained world.
“Low, dry, and precise, with a dockside cadence that makes every sentence sound measured twice before being spoken. She favors small warnings over grand speeches, and when pleased she sounds almost warm, which can be more unsettling than anger.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint white scar across the bridge of her nose shaped like a fishhook
A brass ring worn on a chain around her wrist, never on her fingers
Tar-black stain permanently embedded in the nail beds of her right hand
A cane that sounds hollow on stone but solid on wood
One ear pierced with three mismatched river glass studs
Voice
“Quiet, sanded smooth by years of giving orders over rain and rope, with a faint rasp when she is tired or angry”
Clothing
An oilskin dock coat over dark layered workwear, brass-buttoned waist sash, waterproof boots with reinforced toes, and a ledger pouch hidden beneath her left arm. Her cane is lacquered blackwood with a brass cap and a faint river-salt sheen.
Body Language
Still and compact in conversation, with only small precise movements until she decides something matters. Then her cane angles outward like a marker of territory, her chin lifts, and every motion becomes crisp, efficient, and predatory.
