Dwarf
Appearance
A broad-shouldered dwarf with the weathered poise of a man who has outlived three ships and most of his enemies, Harvek moves with a rolling, deck-bred gait even on dry land. His beard is iron gray and braided into three thick cords, each tied with bits of coral, ship-tokens, and tiny brass bells that barely sound when he turns his head. Salt has permanently etched fine white lines across his cheeks and knuckles, and his left ear is half missing from an old rope snap. He wears a beautifully mended navy coat over practical sailor's leather, but the cuffs are stitched with brightly colored charity ribbons, which makes him look half admiral and half carnival benefactor. One eye is milky from an old storm injury, while the other is sharp and amused, as if he is always measuring a room for leaks and lies at the same time.
“Low, gravelly, and measured, with the clipped authority of a retired officer and the warm patience of a harbor uncle. He speaks in shipboard metaphors, often pausing as though weighing wind direction before choosing his next word.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass compass embedded in the back of his left hand after a wartime wound
Three beard braids sealed with wax from different harbors
A half-blind eye clouded by storm glare
A missing notch from his right thumb, bitten off by a rope cleat
Tiny charity ribbons tied to his cuffs, coat seams, and sword hilt

“Like rough rope pulled through a brass cleat, but softened by patience and old grief”
Clothing
A navy-blue officer's coat refitted into practical layers, oilskin boots, a faded white sash full of stitch marks, and a charity ledger kept in a waterproof chest harness
Body Language
He stands with feet planted like a man on a pitching deck, one hand often braced on railings, table edges, or a nearby shoulder. When listening, he tilts his head slightly as if catching a distant foghorn, and when angered his fingers flex like he is measuring a rope length.
