Edrik Vaeltis
Wizard 16
Edrik Vaeltis
Species
Chromavaft
Appearance
Edrik Vaeltis is a tall chromavaft with skin like smoked quartz veined by slow-moving bands of color that shift with his mood. His shoulders are narrow, but his posture makes him seem broader, as if he is always leaning into an invisible wind. Fine filament-lashes drift from his forearms and collarbones like gossamer tassels, and they tremble when magic is near. He wears an immaculate scholar's coat over battered travel armor, a contradictory pairing that makes him look like a funeral archivist who has just come from a duel. When he is still, he appears almost sculpted from stained glass, but when he moves he flows with a predator's economy, each step precise and quiet.
“Low, precise, and measured, with a faint resonant chime on certain syllables. When excited, his words come faster and more lyrical, as if he is trying to catch a thought before it fractures.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent scar across the left cheek that glows faintly when he casts spells
His eyes show layered concentric rings of gold, teal, and pale violet
Thin crystal spines rise from his wrists like broken quills
A silver lens monocle hangs on a chain, though he rarely uses it for sight
His shadow sometimes lags half a heartbeat behind him in strong magic
Voice
“Soft, resonant, and faintly musical, with a deliberate cadence that makes every sentence feel archived before it is spoken”
Clothing
Layered scholar's coat of black silk lined with iridescent thread, reinforced travel harness, fingerless gloves with glass-thread stitching, and boots wrapped in quieting felt
Body Language
Controlled and angular in public, with clipped hand motions and a habit of tilting his head as if aligning invisible prisms. When relaxed, he folds into himself and steeples his fingers beneath his chin. Under stress, the colors in his skin brighten and his hands move in small, exacting circles.
