Quartzine Fizzle Quartzspark
Species
Gnome
Appearance
Quartzine is a small, quick-moving gnome with a body that seems half made of attic dust and half of polished gemstone. Her skin has the faint translucent sheen of milky quartz, as if candlelight lives just under it, and a dusting of silver freckles climbs from her cheeks to her temples like scattered mica. Her hair is an impossible contradiction: a severe, practical braid of pale white at the roots that gradually fades into vivid amethyst tips, always wrapped with tiny copper wires and a few hanging crystal prisms that tinkle softly when she turns her head. She moves with a careful, tiptoeing precision until she is excited, at which point she becomes a flurry of elbows, skirts, and glinting tools. Her expression is perpetually alert and mildly offended, yet her eyes are warm and often distracted by private wonder. The strangest thing about her is that she smells faintly of rain on hot stone, despite carrying a satchel full of perfume vials and cedar sachets.
“Measured and precise, with a dry undercurrent of wonder. She speaks as though every sentence has been tested for fractures before being handed to someone else.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint lattice of crystal scars across her right wrist from an old warding accident
One ear pierced with seven tiny brass rings, each set with a chip of quartz
Her left eye has a nearly invisible vertical fracture in the iris that catches light like a seam in stone
Keeps a tiny bell inside her sleeve that rings only when she is near strong magic
Voice
“Bright, slightly rasping, and quick with amused little snorts; her tone softens when she is genuinely worried.”
Clothing
A patched indigo coat lined with pockets, a slate-gray workshop apron over a practical skirt and leggings, polished copper buckles, fingerless gloves stained with chalk, and boots reinforced with thin quartz plates at the toes.
Body Language
She keeps her shoulders slightly hunched around her satchel as if guarding a secret, but when she speaks about craft or old ruins she straightens instantly and gestures with quick precise hands. She rarely stands still for long and favors tiny sidesteps over turning in place. When nervous, she rubs her thumb over the edge of a quartz charm until her skin reddens.
