Edda Coil
Commoner
Edda Coil
Species
Beastfolk
Appearance
Edda Coil is a small, compact beastfolk trader with the watchful stillness of a heron and the practical wear of a dock post left too long in brine. Her fur is thick at the shoulders and thins into a salt-streaked ruff around her neck, coated with the faint sheen of lamp soot and marsh-damp. She moves with tiny, precise steps, but her hands are always busy, sorting, knotting, weighing, or counting. One ear has been nicked nearly in half, and the left side of her face is etched with a pale, lantern-shaped scar. She wears a rigid apron over plain wool and oilskin, yet pins a silver mourning brooch to the collar, an unexpectedly elegant token that contrasts with her otherwise hard, utilitarian appearance.
“Short, clipped, and measured, as if every word has a price and she intends to keep the books balanced..”

Distinguishing Features
Lantern-shaped scar on the left side of her face
A silver mourning brooch she never removes
One partially torn ear from a dockside brawl
Ink-darkened fingertips from years of tallying and sealing ledgers
A habit of wearing one glove inside out when nervous, as a private superstition
Voice
“Dry, clipped, and a little raspy from years of sea damp and lantern smoke”
Clothing
A patched oilskin apron over dark wool layers, waterproof cuffs, a brass-chain spectacles cord, salt-stiff boots, and a belt hung with keys, twine, wax seals, and a folding knife for cutting rope
Body Language
She stands with one shoulder slightly forward, as if bracing against wind that only she can feel. Her tail, if visible beneath her apron ties, twitches in small irritated flicks whenever someone misnames an item. When suspicious, she goes very still and tilts her head like she is listening for lies in the floorboards.
