Vezrin Moth looks as if he was assembled from damp velvet, ink stains, and bad decisions. He is narrow-faced and quick-moving, with a polished smile that never reaches his eyes. His hands are elegant and surprisingly scarred, the fingertips darkened by coin grime and lamp soot. He walks with a slight sideways lean, as though forever making room for someone he expects to stab him in the back. The strangest thing about him is the immaculate white handkerchief tucked into his sleeve, embroidered with tiny gold moths, which he uses to clean blood off his knuckles and spectacles with equal care.
