Finvar Cindergleam
Commoner
Finvar Cindergleam
Species
Elf
Appearance
Finvar stands with the careful stillness of someone listening to a distant clock. His long limbs are slightly stooped from years spent over workbenches, yet he moves with startling grace whenever a flame gutters or a tool falls. His skin has the pale green cast of river stones beneath shallow water, and tiny flecks of copper shimmer across his cheeks like embedded sparks. His hair is white at the roots and black at the ends, as though smoke has climbed upward through it. He smells faintly of lamp oil, rain, and crushed mint. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: they are broad, scarred, and callused like a smith's, while his face remains delicate and almost childlike. People often remember his hands before they remember his words.
“His speech is soft, precise, and full of practical imagery. He pauses before names, as if testing their weight, and lowers his voice whenever he mentions darkness.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass lantern hangs from a chain beneath his coat and glows with a steady amber flame even when empty.
His left ear is notched into three clean points from an old hunting accident.
The palms of both hands are covered in silvery burn scars.
His shadow occasionally appears to hold a second lantern.
He wears a blue wax bead on a cord around his neck, containing one of Nuala's first raised-letter messages.
Voice
“A low, dry tenor with a faint rasp, like a match being struck beneath a blanket. His laugh is unexpectedly loud and musical.”
Clothing
A soot-dark green work coat stitched with hundreds of tiny brass rings, a sleeveless gray undershirt, reinforced trousers, soft leather boots, and a belt crowded with wicks, pliers, wax seals, and labeled glass vials. His coat is lined with pale blue fabric covered in handwritten names.
Body Language
Finvar keeps one hand near his brass lantern and tilts his head toward small sounds. When calm, he folds his fingers like a resting moth. When angry, he rubs his thumb over the oldest burn scar on his palm. He rarely makes direct eye contact unless promising something important.
