Veyrath Sableclause
Archdevil Auditor, Pact Magistrate
Veyrath Sableclause
Species
Devil
Appearance
Veyrath appears as a tall, austere devil whose body seems carved from cooled volcanic glass, with ember-red cracks glowing beneath the surface. Two swept-back horns resemble the blackened branches of a dead tree, while a narrow crown of smaller horns circles the back of his skull like a broken halo. His fingers are long and jointed, ending in lacquer-black claws that leave faint ink stains on anything he touches. He moves with the careful silence of a librarian, never seeming to shift his weight, yet each step leaves a warm footprint in stone. His most unsettling feature is his expression of sincere, almost tender concern. He looks like a kindly elderly magistrate until his mouth opens too wide and reveals three rows of silver teeth. Despite his infernal nature, he smells faintly of rain on dry earth rather than brimstone.
“His voice is soft, educated, and almost soothing, with the faint sound of turning pages beneath every sentence. When he speaks Infernal, his words arrive a heartbeat before his lips move.”

Distinguishing Features
A ring of tiny brass bells is fused beneath the skin of his left wrist, though they never make a sound.
His shadow sometimes points toward the nearest broken promise instead of following the light.
The right side of his face is smooth and handsome, while the left side is cracked like a burned clay mask.
His silver teeth are engraved with the names of people he has forgiven.
His footprints briefly bloom with black flowers before burning away.
Voice
“A velvet baritone with the warmth of a late-night storyteller and the precision of a courtroom verdict”
Clothing
A long charcoal coat stitched with copper legal glyphs, a wine-red waistcoat, immaculate gloves, and a mantle made from overlapping strips of parchment. His belt carries sealed tubes, wax stamps, and a small silver bell used to summon witnesses.
Body Language
He stands perfectly straight with his hands folded behind his back, tilting his head slightly when someone lies. When pleased, he taps one claw against his palm in a slow rhythm. When genuinely frightened, he becomes motionless and his ember-cracks dim.
