Maku is a lean Chromavaft with glass-sheen skin that shifts between tea-green, opal, and smoke-gray depending on the light. His body is angular and elegant, but every movement has the soft precision of someone who measures space by instinct. Thin seam-lines of polished alloy run beneath his collarbones and along his wrists, glowing faintly when he casts. He wears a long shop coat stitched from oilcloth, velvet, and heat-resistant mesh, its pockets bulging with nozzles, lenses, and stoppered vials. The most memorable thing about him is his smile, which is warm and grandfatherly, while his eyes reveal a sharp, almost predatory focus that never misses a bargain or a lie.
