Rava Kaoth, the Deep Bend Warden
Ancient Dragon Spirit
Rava Kaoth, the Deep Bend Warden
Species
Dragon
Appearance
Rava is a colossal, wingless dragon whose body seems carved from river stone and living current at once. His scales are layered like wet slate, but each one catches the light with a hidden sheen, as if moonlight has been trapped beneath the surface of deep water. He moves with unnerving grace, gliding rather than slithering, his long tail carving silent arcs through mud and reeds. Up close, he is both majestic and oddly comforting, with the tired patience of an old ferryman. The contradiction comes from his eyes, which are ancient and severe but framed by delicate whisker-like fins that tremble like the fronds of a shy pond creature. When he is still, he resembles a carved idol. When he moves, he feels like a flood deciding where the world may remain standing.
“Low, resonant, and waterlogged, like a temple bell heard through rain. He speaks slowly unless angered, in which case each word lands like a stone dropped into deep water.”

Distinguishing Features
A broken horn healed with gold river resin that glitters like amber in sunlight
One foreclaw bears a ring of carved river stones threaded together by roots
A scar across his throat that never dries, even in drought
Whisker-fins that ripple whenever lies are spoken nearby
Tiny bioluminescent moss patches along his ribs that glow when he is calm
Voice
“A deep, calm rumble with the softness of distant rainfall and the menace of a rising flood”
Clothing
A mantle of braided rivergrass, silver fishbones, prayer cords, and weathered druid charms draped loosely around his neck and forelimbs; on formal occasions he wears a crown of black reeds and pearl shells
Body Language
Stillness is his warning sign. When amused, he blinks slowly and lets the tip of his tail tap the ground like a patient drum. When angry, the water around him begins to move against the wind. He lowers his head to listen, not out of deference but because he is always hearing the river beneath words.
