Finn Tinkertail
Artificer Apprentice
Finn Tinkertail
Species
Anthropomorphic Red Fox
Appearance
Finn is a lean red fox with bright orange-red fur that looks soft until you notice the singed tips along his tail and the grease-darkened patches on his forelegs. His white muzzle and chest are carefully groomed, almost fussy, but his coat is perpetually dusted with brass filings and pollen. He moves in quick, crouched bursts, then freezes in a perfectly still thinking pose, as if the whole world is a gear he can measure by eye. His amber eyes are sharp and amused, and his expression usually wears a smug little grin that suggests he already knows the next three mistakes everyone else will make. The unexpected detail is the neat little prayer ribbon tied around one wrist, bright blue and deeply respectful, the only thing on him that is never stained.
“Fast, witty, and packed with technical analogies. He uses bright, encouraging language when building trust, but his voice goes cold and exact when discussing mistakes, hazards, or betrayal.”

Distinguishing Features
One ear is permanently tipped back from an old spark-burst.
A faint crescent burn mark stripes the fur over his left shoulder.
His paws are nicked with tiny scars in the exact places where tools slip.
He wears a bright blue prayer ribbon that never leaves his wrist.
His tail is unusually expressive, often curling like punctuation.
Voice
“Bright, quick, and slightly gravelly, with an excited little laugh that sometimes turns into a self-satisfied chirp.”
Clothing
A patched brown leather flight jacket with oil stains, brass buckles, colorful festival ribbons, a tool belt stuffed with tiny spanners and coils of wire, fingerless gloves, and scuffed boots with reinforced toes. He keeps his goggles pushed up on his forehead unless he is actually working.
Body Language
Restless and precise, with quick darting glances, a curled tail that flicks with every new idea, and a habit of leaning in close when he is truly interested. When proud he puffs his chest; when guilty he tucks one ear flatter than the other.
