Appearance
Captain Glorien Tarsin looks carved from storm-beaten oak and polished brass. He is broad-shouldered and compact, with a rolling, ship-deck stride that makes him seem as if he is always balancing against an invisible swell. His navy coat is immaculate at the seams but salt-faded at the cuffs, and his waistcoat is sewn with tiny hidden pockets for receipts, seals, and emergency coin. One eye is a clear winter-gray, the other is hidden behind a thin crystal lens set in a brass frame that magnifies cargo marks and distant handwriting. His hands are scarred and callused, but his fingernails are always clean. The contradictory detail is that he smells faintly of lavender soap and ink, not tar, which makes him feel more like a magistrate than a dock captain.
“Measured, crisp, and occasionally dryly humorous. He speaks like every word has been weighed for freight and found acceptable.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass-framed crystal lens over one eye.
A small burn scar shaped like a crescent along his right wrist.
A gold hart brooch pinned to his coat lapel.
A half-healed nick across his upper lip that makes his serious expressions look permanently skeptical.
Ink stains on the side of his left index finger that never seem to wash out.
Voice
“Low, controlled baritone with a dry edge and the faintest harbor rasp, as if every sentence has spent time in the wind.”
Clothing
A dark blue captain's coat with brass buttons, a rainproof sash of waxed green leather, fitted black trousers, sea boots with reinforced soles, and a white neckcloth pinned with a tiny golden hart brooch. He wears a ledger chain at his belt and a fingerless glove on his left hand.
Body Language
Controlled and economical, with clipped gestures and a habit of squaring objects to the nearest edge. He leans in to listen, then steps back before replying, as if measuring people the way he measures cargo.
