Taziki Ngeru
Species
Human
Appearance
Taziki is a narrow-shouldered human woman with the compact, tense posture of someone who expects ceilings to fall and doors to open violently. Her skin is deep umber, dusted permanently at the knuckles and along the bridge of her nose with pale masonry powder. Her left ear is slightly folded from an old beating, while a thin white scar crosses her lower lip. She moves in abrupt, economical starts, freezing whenever boots scrape stone, then slipping forward with startling grace. Her hands are callused and nimble, but she wears one immaculate copper ring on her smallest finger, an unexpectedly delicate possession amid her ragged survival gear. At first glance she seems brittle and exhausted. When cornered, she becomes unnervingly still, like a nail driven into wood.
“Low, quick, and precise. Taziki rarely raises her voice above a murmur, but when she gives an instruction during danger, every word lands with hard finality.”

Distinguishing Features
A folded left ear and a white scar crossing the lower lip.
An immaculate copper ring worn on the smallest finger of her left hand.
Red cord tied around both ankles, a private signal meaning that the wearer is carrying aid.
Masonry dust embedded beneath her fingernails despite frequent washing.
A habit of tilting her head toward walls as if listening to the stones.
Voice
“A dry contralto with a rasp like grit under cloth. Her voice becomes softer when speaking to children and flatter when speaking about death.”
Clothing
A patched charcoal tunic beneath a sleeveless scavenger's coat made from mismatched leather panels. Her trousers are tied at the ankles with red cord, her boots are wrapped in strips of cloth to muffle footfalls, and a gray scarf covers her mouth when gang patrols pass. Several hidden pockets line the coat's inner seams.
Body Language
Taziki keeps one shoulder angled toward the nearest exit and touches her copper ring whenever she is forced to make a promise. She rarely sits with her back exposed. When frightened, she folds inward. When she decides to act, her posture straightens with sudden, almost military precision.
