Half-Elf
Appearance
Morrow Vale cuts a striking figure, all weathered grace and secret tension. He wears his age like a well-used cloak, with silver threaded through long ash-brown hair that he keeps tied back in a tight tail with a strip of blue silk. His skin has the warm olive cast of someone who has spent years in sun and lamplight alike, marked by faint burn scars across one forearm and a dusting of ink stains at the fingertips. He moves with the careful smoothness of a man who has learned to survive crowded rooms, always turning his shoulders as if expecting a hand to grasp his sleeve. The contradiction is immediate: his coat is tailored in expensive raven velvet, but the cuffs are patched with rough sailcloth, as if he cannot bear to throw away either comfort or hardship. One of his boots has a silver buckle shaped like a swallow, while the other is plain leather from a much older pair.
“Measured, low, and precise, with the habit of pausing before names as if weighing their value. He rarely raises his voice, but when he does it becomes very calm, which is somehow worse.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin crescent scar through his right eyebrow.
Ink-black calluses on two fingers from years of sealing letters and forgery work.
A silver swallow buckle that he touches when anxious.
One ear pierced twice, though he wears no jewelry there anymore.
A faint scent of rosemary smoke and wet parchment.
Voice
“Velvet-rough and dry, like a book handled too often in winter.”
Clothing
A raven velvet coat over a charcoal traveling vest, narrow trousers, weatherproof gloves with cut fingertips, and boots reinforced for long road travel. Hidden inner pockets are stitched into nearly every layer, some empty, some weighted with small secrets.
Body Language
He stands slightly sideways, as if presenting less of a target to the world. His hands are expressive when he speaks, but they retreat into his sleeves when he is listening. Under stress, he rubs his thumb over the inside seam of his left cuff until the stitching warms.
