Follow the Fox Through Briarwatch
You enter a circular chamber open to the starless sky. Rainwater drips through broken stonework, carrying the scent of wet ivy and old ash. Five fox-shaped stones ring a sunken dais, their eyes dark but their forehead glyphs glowing faintly in red, blue, green, white, and violet. A cracked bronze plaque depicts laughing children repeating a pattern after a fox spirit. Around the dais, a miniature version of the ruined town sits beneath glassy dust: its beacon tower leans, its courier gate is jammed, and its signal bell hangs split in two. Whenever anyone steps near a fox stone, a distant childlike voice whispers, “Follow me, then remember.”
