The Fourfold Seal of the Archive Vault
The vault chamber is round and dry as old parchment, its walls banded in bronze ribs that catch torchlight in sickly green reflections. Four stone urns sit in niches around a central dial, and each bears a different carved verse while faint motes of dust, frost, ember-heat, and a trickle of condensation drift from their lids. The dial is ringed with symbols of foundation, memory, breath, and ending, and every time the rings are turned the floor basin answers with a low hum, as if the chamber is listening for the right order.
