The Veilfen is a broad fey marshland surrounding Mirehollow, where waking reality overlaps with a mutable dream world. Blackwater channels divide reed seas, drowned forests, and floating islands large enough for villages. Luminous plants illuminate paths that do not always remain paths, while independent reflections and early-arriving sounds make every journey uncertain. The region remains explorable because wardens mark reliable routes, travelers can anchor memories with tokens, and Dream-Tide effects intensify gradually rather than striking without warning.

Field Observations

Sounds often arrive before their sources, making ambushes and false trails common.,Reflections move independently and may reveal routes, dangers, or hidden intentions.,Sleeping in the marsh can transport travelers into symbolic dream scenes before returning them near their camp.

Cultures

Marshborn communities blend practical boatcraft, communal survival, and reverence for remembered dreams.

Fey-touched wanderers prize bargains, personal names, and stories that change when retold.

Mirehollow settlers preserve lowland customs shaped by fear of the night waters.
