Hook
A drowned lighthouse still shines each night, guiding ships toward a harbor that vanished a century ago.
Calder is a wounded planet where civilization ended when its magical currents broke open beneath the land. Generations later, people farm poisoned valleys, sail ash-choked seas, and rebuild with Renaissance tools around dangerous wells of power. Magic is common enough for a village hedge-witch or battle mage, but every spell strains the planet’s wounds. Merchant leagues, raiders, priests, and engineers argue over whether Calder can be healed or must simply be survived.

The deep currents ruptured beneath the world, poisoning harvests, raising dead coastlines, and burning cities with red auroras; old governments collapsed within a generation.
Survivors rebuilt as fortified towns, merchant leagues, and wandering communities, but every new road, mine, and spell risks disturbing the wounds beneath the earth.

The Fall was caused by an attempted world-scale power transfer, and its unfinished machine still operates beneath the planet.
Discovery · Ancient navigation charts, matching scars in distant ruins, and identical dreams among current-well survivors.
Impact · Calder’s wounds are not random disasters; they form a planetary circuit that is slowly completing itself.
Souls trapped near the broken currents can be reborn without memories, carrying only emotional traces from previous lives.
Discovery · The Lantern Church’s oldest burial records list the same names returning across different centuries.
Impact · The party may learn that some souls are being recycled into new bodies, creating identity, inheritance, and political crises.
