Blackwall Keep - AI-generated fantasy Building

Blackwall Keep

Once a proud sentinel overlooking the Grey Vale, Blackwall Keep is now a skeletal remains of stone and timber. Its outer curtain wall has crumbled into a jagged slope of grey rock, and the main gatehouse stands as a hollow tooth against the skyline. Vines as thick as a man's arm wrap around the remaining turrets, pulling them slowly into the earth. Inside, the ceiling has collapsed in several wings, letting shafts of cold moonlight pierce the dusty, stagnant air of the interior corridors.

Blackwall Keep

The air is heavy with the scent of wet soot and decay. Every footstep echoes too loudly against the cold stone, and there is a constant, low whistle of wind moving through the cracks in the masonry. It feels as though the building itself is holding its breath, waiting for something to finish dying.

History

The keep was the seat of the Blackwall family for three centuries until a localized plague and a peasant revolt saw the line extinguished. Legend says the last lord turned to dark powers to defend his home, but the help arrived too late. The castle has remained a shunned shell ever since, avoided by locals who claim the stones remember the blood spilled on them.

The Grand Hall Layout

The heart of the keep is a massive rectangular hall, eighty feet long and forty feet wide. At the far end stands a terrifying twenty foot tall statue of a horned demon, carved from a obsidian-like stone that seems to swallow light. Surrounding this central figure are six smaller statues of hooded, kneeling figures in a circular formation. The floor is cracked flagstone, and two rows of thick stone pillars provide cover along the sides of the room. This hall is the designated site for the final confrontation.

Tactical Hazards

The floor of the Grand Hall is littered with debris. Several areas are marked as difficult terrain due to fallen ceiling beams. Two specific 5-foot squares near the center are weak: if a creature larger than Small stands there, the floor collapses into a 10-foot deep pit. The pillars can be climbed with a DC 12 Athletics check, providing a vantage point for ranged attackers.

The Ruined Armoury

Located near the entrance, this room contains mostly rusted scrap. However, a successful DC 13 Investigation check reveals a well-preserved shield with the Blackwall crest and a bundle of ten silver-tipped arrows hidden inside a rotted barrel.
