The Lower Foundry
Situated in the sub-basements of the Zenbis arcane college, this workshop is a chaotic blend of heavy industry and high magic. Massive circular saws, originally built for cutting shipyard hulls, now scream as they slice through magically hardened Ironwood. The air is thick with a mixture of sawdust, hot oil, and the pungent metallic scent of vaporized quicksilver. Massive steam pipes line the ceiling, hissing as they vent excess pressure into the cold stone walls.

The Lower Foundry
The workshop is deafeningly loud and sweltering. Every surface vibrates with the rhythmic thumping of steam-powered pistons. Students and laborers scurry between machines wearing leather aprons and thick goggles to protect themselves from sparks and high-pressure steam leaks.

Pragmatic and meticulous. Thorne has little patience for theoretical magic, preferring the 'honest' results of steam and steel.
History
Industrial Infusion Mechanics
Level 5 characters can pay 500 gold to have a non-magical weapon treated in the Infusion Chamber. After 24 hours of pressurized exposure to quicksilver, the weapon gains a +1 bonus to attack rolls, but the process is volatile. A roll of 1 on a d20 during the process results in the weapon shattering under pressure.
Safety Hazards and Environmental Effects
The machinery is dangerous. Any creature pushed into the Twin Titan Saws takes 4d10 slashing damage. Steam bursts from failing pipes occur every 3 rounds in random locations, requiring a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw to avoid 2d6 fire damage.
Rare Material Stockpile
The workshop holds a significant inventory of exotic materials: several crates of Duskwood, three canisters of refined quicksilver, and a small vault of diamond dust used for sharpening the specialized hand tools.
Denizens

A retired shipwright who speaks in a gravelly shout to be heard over the saws. He is missing two fingers but knows the resonance of every wood type in the realm.
An older-model warforged responsible for monitoring boiler levels and dragging reckless students away from the rotating blades.
Rumors & Plot Hooks
- 1.The quicksilver in the infusion chamber occasionally takes the shape of faces when no one is looking.
- 2.A shipment of 'living wood' escaped the saws and is currently rooted in the ventilation shafts.
- 3.Master Thorne is secretly building a clockwork assassin for a high-ranking college dean.
Classified Entry
The workshop's main boiler is powered by a Bound Fire Elemental that is slowly eroding its containment sigils, leading to the frequent 'accidental' steam bursts.
