Flagellum Ardens (The Burning Scourge)
A devastating magical disease created by the Order of the Void Maw. It is transmitted via a rhythmic mana pulse emitted from a central white-flamed sphere. The disease targets the inherent magical essence within living things, consuming their internal reservoir of energy until they spontaneously combust.

Detection
“A floating, silver-white metallic sphere roughly one foot in diameter, wreathed in violent but heatless white flames. The air around it ripples with a static chill that makes the hair on spellcasters' necks stand up.”
Standard Engagement
A creature with magical sensitivity moves within 60 feet of the Scourge Catalyst.
The Catalyst uses three actions on its turn. Action 1: Pulsing Siphon. All creatures within 60 feet must attempt a DC 29 Will save. On a failure, the creature is exposed to Flagellum Ardens (Stage 1) or increases their current stage by 1. Action 2 and 3: Scourge Lash. The Catalyst fires two bolts of white fire at random magically sensitive targets (+24 ranged attack, 2d12+10 fire damage). This fire damage ignores Resistance to Fire if the target is currently afflicted by Flagellum Ardens.
The hazard remains active until the Scourge Catalyst is destroyed (Broken) or successfully disabled.
Saving Throw: DC 29 Fortitude. Stage 1: The creature feels a deep chill. If they cast a spell, they must succeed at a DC 5 flat check or the spell is lost (Level 10 Hazard). Stage 2: Stupefied 2 and Enfeebled 1. Spellcasting flat check increases to DC 10 (Level 11 Hazard). Stage 3: Stupefied 3, Enfeebled 2, and Drained 2. Spellcasting flat check increases to DC 15 (Level 12 Hazard). Stage 4: The creature immediately takes 20d6 fire damage as their mana detonates. If this reduces them to 0 HP, they are turned to fine white ash and cannot be resurrected except by Wish or similar magic (Level 14 Hazard).
For every creature currently at Stage 3 or higher within 60 feet of the Catalyst, the hazard's attack bonus and save DCs increase by +1, reflecting the feedback loop of burning mana.
Non-magical creatures are immune to the disease but still vulnerable to the fire damage from Scourge Lash.
