The Penitent's Censer
A heavy brass thurible hanging by a silver chain that reacts to those who enter the temple without performing the proper signs of respect.

Detection
“The censer is shaped like a weeping eye, etched with silver filigree, and smells faintly of jasmine and cold ash.”
Standard Engagement
A creature that has not performed the Vow of Entrance (a specific bow or prayer) passes directly beneath the censer.
None
The censer resets automatically after 1 minute as the magical chain pulls it back to its original equilibrium position.
The censer swings down with divine speed. One creature in its path takes 1d8+2 bludgeoning damage and must succeed at a DC 16 Fortitude save or be dazzled for 1 round by a sudden, concentrated burst of holy ash and smoke.
If a creature takes a critical hit from the swing (or fails the save by 10 or more), they are also knocked prone as the heavy brass weight sweeps their legs.
