Infernal Soul-Lock
The Infernal Soul-Lock is a complex hazard built into the battlefield's objective. It protects the soul coin that the devils need to recover before they can escape. The hazard does not merely punish thieves. It turns proximity, hesitation, and divided attention into opportunities for the devils to seize the coin and flee.

Detection
“A black iron reliquary stands on a cracked stone dais, its lid chained shut around a single soul coin. Thin red light leaks through the seams, and every few breaths the coin whispers in the voice of someone the heroes have met. When the devils approach, the chains pull taut like living serpents.”
Standard Engagement
The hazard activates when a non-devil creature touches the soul coin, attempts to open the reliquary, or begins an action that would move the coin more than 10 feet from the dais. It also activates when a devil adjacent to the dais commands it to awaken.
The hazard acts on its initiative. Each round, it uses Soul-Snare against the nearest creature within 30 feet that is not a devil. If a creature is carrying the soul coin, the hazard uses Coin's Backlash against that creature instead. Once per round, when a devil within 30 feet critically succeeds at a check to Interact with or seize the soul coin, the hazard uses Memory Burst as a free action.
The hazard resets 10 minutes after the soul coin is returned to the reliquary. If the coin is removed permanently, the hazard cannot reset, but the reliquary becomes unstable and releases Soul Discharge after 3 rounds.
The target attempts a DC 24 Will save. On a critical success, the target is unaffected. On a success, the target is stupefied 1 until the end of its next turn. On a failure, the target is stupefied 1 and slowed 1 until the end of its next turn. On a critical failure, the target is stupefied 2 and slowed 1 until the end of its next turn. A creature that is already stupefied by this hazard instead takes 4d6 mental damage on a failed save.
The reliquary releases a burst of stolen memory in a 15-foot emanation. Creatures in the area attempt a DC 24 Will save. A creature that fails takes 5d6 mental damage and is frightened 1. On a critical failure, it is also off-guard until the end of its next turn.
The infernal lock lashes out at a creature carrying the soul coin. The carrier takes 6d6 void damage and must succeed at a DC 24 Fortitude save or be immobilized until the end of its next turn. The devils can still attempt to seize the coin from an immobilized carrier.
The reliquary occupies the dais and cannot be moved while the soul coin remains inside. A creature can pick up the soul coin with an Interact action once the lid is open or the reliquary is disabled.
Devils are immune to the reliquary's effects and can identify its safe handling methods automatically. A devil adjacent to the reliquary can attempt to open it with a single Interact action unless a character is actively preventing it.
If the reliquary is destroyed while the soul coin remains inside, every creature within 20 feet takes 7d6 void damage, with a DC 24 Reflex save for half damage. On a failed save, the creature is also pushed 10 feet away. The soul coin lands in a random square within the burst and becomes inert for 1 round.
