The Spoils of the Rootfall Ambush

The ambush site lies beneath a shattered canopy where the roots of an ancient tree have torn through the earth. The corrupted wolves had gathered trophies from travelers and hidden them among the roots, while the vine blights concealed the larger coffer in a living mass of thorn and bark. The Shadow-Touched Dire Wolf carried the most unusual prize, a silver-banded agate carved in the likeness of a wolf's eye, perhaps stolen from a forgotten woodland shrine. Alongside ordinary coin and trade goods, the party finds useful healing draughts, rare forest plants, and materials tainted by the encounter.
