Arbalest of the Zenbis Knot

This heavy crossbow is carved from a singular, calcified limb of the Gulthias Tree found in the festering swamps of Zenbis. The wood is an unsettling charcoal black with deep, blood-red veins that seem to pulse when held. It lacks a traditional metal stirrup, using instead a gnarled loop of petrified root. The string is made from the fibrous inner bark of the same tree, braided with strands of human hair. When held, the user can feel a faint, rhythmic vibration like a distant heartbeat.
