This palm-sized brass lockbox is shaped like a faceted lantern with no door and no flame. Its panels are made of overlapping panes of smoky crystal that catch light in ripples of blue and silver. A fine chain of moon-silver wraps around the body of the box, and a tiny thumbwheel on the base clicks like a clockwork heart. When held near a sealed door, hidden compartment, or trapped chest, the box warms softly and leaks a thread of pale light from its seams.
