Night Crescent

A curved blade of blackened steel that possesses a matte, obsidian-like finish. The surface of the metal is peppered with faint, star-like pinpricks that seem to shift depth when viewed from different angles. It is fitted with an elegant, hooked guard featuring intricate gothic filigree. When magic, illusions, or creatures of the shadow realms are near, violet runes ignite along the fuller of the blade, and the edge begins to trace a thin crescent arc of violet light.
